Congratulations to all new Borbon Officials!

Borbonanons, we made a choice on who will lead Borbon in the next few years. Some of us may be rejoicing while others are still pouting. That’s part of the process, there are winners and non-winners. Hopefully, our elected leaders will do their job and let them be worthy to be called “Honorables of our Borbon”.

Below is another letter from one of our active email contributors, Borj M. Hope you enjoyed all his thoughts and reminders about the importance of election for our future.

WHERE ARE WE HEADING NEXT?
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 9:50 AM

From: “borj macalintal”
To: tagaborbon

Despite the frustrations for some voters due to heat and long lines encountered during the first automated election in our town, the result essentially says it all. The 2010 National and Local election is now finally over.

This leads us to the question: Where are we heading next?

Borbon electorate has finally chosen our bunch of local ‘honorables’ to run the affairs of our local government unit. As of this writing, I can already conjure clear winners even if some clustered precincts did not yield their election returns yet.

What I will say is CONGRATULATIONS in advance to all candidates especially the winners to-be… from Mayor, Vice-Mayor down to the Sanguniang Bayan members.

The conventional thinking will probably still be around for a while for those candidates who did not make it in this political race. So, for those who did not make it (as reflected in the ongoing unofficial count of election returns from clustered precincts of upland and lowland barangays), my decent advice is for you concede na lang. At least you have done your best to deliver your message to the people of Borbon, but try to consider that it would still be the electorate to decide at the very end.

I want to continue my appeal to all candidates (winning or losing) that it is time to focus on a much larger picture. The time to materialize the platforms and programs that you have had envisioned for our town during the campaign period.

CONCORDIA RES PARVAE CRESCENT … the very same message mentioned by other Borbonanon in the earlier post that I also want to sustain. WE, as BORBONANON should work together to accomplish more… now that election is over.

And I am hoping that our newly-elected local officials will deliver their promises to bring prosperity and development to our beloved town of Borbon.

  • Yes election is over and we have the winners declared already by the COMELEC. Now we start building our new hopes that someday BORBON our beloved place will be place in the portal of DIFFERENCE. Difference by the view of progress in our society and as well as progress in our culture. I know they all have the POWER, the WILL, the AUTHORITY, the CONNECTIONS and most of all the LOGISTICS and there is no reason to defend themselves that they couldn’t do it…. as long as they are KNOWLEDGEABLE enough.

  • I hope everybody wake up and see the reality whats going on in our beloved town. I am going to raise this question to all BORBONANON’s, “Are you satisfied enough the PROGRESS that we are having right now in our Municipality of Borbon”? then if your answer is “positve yes” then it’s fine, but if you say “NO” lets give here some insights if what would be LACKING in our municipality in order to open up their POLITICAL MINDS just to create ideas what people wants and what people suggested.

A very good question by our compatriot “Mr Ireneo Noynay” about mentioned Progress. May i ask something, which progress that you cite that our municipality of borbon had’ maybe there were few, i’m not dicounted any of them, but that is not enough accomplishment for those local officials (LGU’s)reign borbon for long period of time & perhaps that was only fraction in comparison to those of the other towns of cebu whose progress/improvement was picking up due to initiative & constructive effort / a well planned by their respective local officials who are positive for the development by exploring with their respective areas as a potential tool for so called progress & development.

In the case of borbon our beloved hometown whom i was raised, the situation still stagnant as i observed, there are many things to be done, eg….the borbon public market is already delapidated that require rehabilatation/modernazation, borbon municipal hall require improvement, improvement of water supply network which is in adequate supply in other barrios, put up & construcion/develop new park for children & adult and tourist as well, if theres tourist to come & visit borbon, the road infrastructure specifically those of feeder road that links to different barrios require improvements if not completely cemented or asphalted as an access for our farmers for their produce from farm to market, at the same time some foreign tourist love hiking this is among vital issues local elected official of borbon has to be given priority because maximum percent of these road are rough with rocks surmounted so action must be taken on this matter.

With regards to tourism there were plenty of areas of borbon that potential and can be tourist attraction on both locals & foreign if the elected LGU’s are keen to draft master plan for the long term development inorder peoples can see & feel the genuine development that would realized further which is long time dreamed by the peoples, at the same time, any project would be undertaken locally will create jobs equally to borbonanons & positive results to towns economy.
With this comments i hope that our elected local leaders shall show their potential and ability study further, work hard beneficial for borbon and for our fellow borbonanons just to improve daily living & show to the world that this town will take off not left behind anymore.

    Thanks a lots.

there is no letting go the face that our hometown is still the same place twenty, thirty years ago..save for some sporadic “developments” like the underutilized gym, no objective progress has been done to the town. what could you expect from the elected officials? kanang mutunga lang kung sesyon? or adto magpahayahay sa gawas nasud samtang gailaid sa kalisud ang mga tawo?
    tourist spots? what?
the sad reality is ang borbon is already a town run by crooks and the corrupt, manipulated by the M.Lhuilier that owns half of tyhe town. tan-awa ra ninyo ang paril sa borbon from bingay to pondol..

maayo man na for tourism, the great wall of borbon..

Our compatriot’s comments dated March 25/2011 is a sounds of desperations of what she or he had observed borbon situation for the moment as peoples could expect “nothing” so long as the elected LGU’s are reluctant to do something in looking forward what the best idea in their capacity by running this place to move forward.

As it was mentioned her” Kanang Motunga Lang Kung Sesyon? or adto Magpahayahay sa gawas sa nasod samtang gailaid sa kalisod ang mga tawo?”

This is a wake up call to the newly elected LGU’s and the one who lead that LGU to remind that the peoples were elected them and won the race for the expectation that something could be deliver by them once they assumed duty as Local LGU’s officials, This does’nt mean that showing up only during session? flatly nooo….thats not the way as what i beleived, even though i do not have experience….My belief and provably to others borbonanons, once you elected and become LGU’s officials, you should work hard, learn will whats the local government code mandated, proposed something in mind during session time what good for the localities that could eventually beneficial for the town & barrios and the peoples as will.
Elected LGU’s has to think twice, reverse the situation proved yourself that you were worthy for that post you are holding show to the peoples that you are able and capable to run this place (town) in a manner of moving forward towards progressing in terms of development that could sustain borbon’s economy / peoples living condition. Borbon progress is in the bottom similar to other town from north to south of cebu in early 60′s, four decades passed by this neigboring towns were already soaring in terms of progress and economic activity of those towns were picking up, ” while Borbon is still on the bottom” this is very unfortunate situation borbon has still lag behind among other towns of cebu.
So for this situation, may request something for this new elected LGU officials, to work hard, flexed you muscles and initiatives, vision and spare no effort that be constructive for borbon’s progress & development for that is the call of the peoples here. We have the so called “mother unit’ in cebu, The Capitol where the governorate office settled, for sure this office could extend financial assistance to very towns of this province in case proposed development project in various areas of borbon is being presented for funding purpose as it was reflected on the master plan being developed by these LGU of borbon.
Peoples must be vigilant to monitor what progess & development of borbon had at this time ensuring every move of elected LGU’s would be accounted for.

    Thanks a lot.

    Regards.

This is Borj Macalintal and I’m back. It’s almost a year since May, 2010 election that we have had exercised our right of suffrage. Perhaps, it would also be the right time to call on our beloved “honorables” of Borbon to lay down their ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT. I believe that we can demand this very basic right being a legal electorate of the Municipality of Borbon.

Perhaps our “honorables” have that decency to inform every Borbonanon about the programs or projects that they have done to improve the situation of our town as well as the people of the entire municipality.
So let’s sort it out from the top… then down the line of our municipal hierarchy.

Mga tinahod nga mga opisyales sa lungsod sa Borbon, asa na man ang inyong mga programa ug proyekto sa lungsod nga napahimuslan sa kinabag-an? As what our Excellency, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino had said during his proclamation, “Mga Pilipino… kayo ang BOSS ko!” We can tell the same thing to our Borbon Local Officials… that every resident of the Municipality of Borbon… is your BOSS!

SO, YOUR BOSS HAS JUST ORDERED. PROVIDE YOUR ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT NOW! Lol.
     Hon. Mayor?
     Hon. Vice Mayor?
     Hon. Councilors?

Your pious constituents deserve to know.

Finally, to be fair and just… maybe we could hear something from our LGU side about the programs that they had envisioned and have had realized till date. If someone from the LGU can provide us some justifications kong unsa nay tinuod nga dagan sa ilang pamunuan… mas labing maayo. Who knows, every Borbonanon can have their share of support if they knows the benefit your program of governance has.

This is a call to all our elected local officials of the Municipality of Borbon.

During my vacation from June 4 to July 5, 2011 i enjoy to roam around Cebu, from South to North bound with my family, go to beaches in the south resorts and in the north as will, that means we enjoy along with my family bonding on that holiday which is a very special for me, that is included the pilgrimage to Simala, Attend every sunday mass to church with the family for that is also precious moments for me specially the thanksgiving to the lord god our heavenly father who are very kind and provider of all.

But my vacation is not complete without visiting to my aging mother and my sister who look after my mother, my uncles, cousins ang all relatives there in borbon in cadaruhan, tabunan and in other barrios in borbon to visit them and say hello, and my childhood friends too i visit and meet them for i’m really missed them also as my old good friends, they were also strugling for living whatever works available as long as that is honorable they will take it just to earn a living to support family needs thats the kind of situation that i’ve been observed overthere.

However, about Borbon situation the overview of the town and the facilities on it is still similar to the previous one theres no sign of improvement, theres no developments or any sign of improvements that can impressed people that leads in to praise to local officials as a results, in facts there is road (rough road) tend to put at open space adjacent to the existing fish pond of canetes but only few meters rough”…….
Sad to say that our Municipal hall buliding is already old and needs of improvement, public market is delapidated need rehabilatation among others associated to it, not to mentioned the new park to be istablished if possible ” I HOPE THE INCHARGE OF THIS LGU’S ON THIS PLACE WILL DO SOMETHING FOR HIS CAPACITY TO UNDERTAKE ACTION ON THIS MATTER. Aside from this issues, there were some long time unresolved issues that the LGU will look into, and exert effort to address this incomplete road concreting of feeder roads i will cite for example in tabunan feeder road link to luayan, managase and other barrios, provably there were some areas with similar problems require action and addressed with our local government units.
“Water distribution system is still very poor, in tabunan upper side there no water supply on day time, the problem is the pressure is insuffecient to push the water up on day time that is also long overdue problem that the incharge of this Local Water Utility has to addressed.

Finally thats the observation that i have been taken in my hometown lack of progress and developments compare to the neigboring towns in cebu from north and to south bound……
    (This is unbeleivable situation)…..
